Protect Your Skin Against Harmful Bacteria

For almost a year, we have been living under conditions requires washing our hands, using disinfectants, wearing face masks for hours in public or during working hours. Washing your hands and wearing face masks are key to reducing the spread of disease-causing viruses. One of the most important things you can do to be protected against infectious diseases is to keep your hands clean and germ-free. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or using hand sanitizers that contain approved active ingredients.

However, constant hand washing and excessive use of disinfectants can make natural oils disappear from your hands, thus irritate and damage your skin. We have a few recommendations that will help your skin while doing the necessary disinfection.

  • First of all, the products you use should not contain triclosan, paraben or phthalates, and should be microbiologically and dermatologically tested.
  • Disinfectants are not only gas form. You can also try liquid, cream and gel formulas.
  • Pay attention to the content of the disinfectants you use. With products containing glycerin or vegetable oils that help protect and moisturize the skin, you will provide the necessary daily care for your skin alongside disinfection.
  • Licorice root, St. John’s wort, tea tree extracts, quaternary ammonium salt are known for their sanitizing properties. Pay attention to whether the disinfectants you use contain either one or more of them.
  • Probiotic products can also help clean! With probiotic content formulated for hand and skin, disinfectants containing lactic acid, known for its cleaning properties, moisturize your skin while cleaning it in daily use.

By following our tips for disinfection products that are gentle on your hands, you can give your skin the necessary cleaning and care it needs.
