How to Provide Effective Surface Disinfection at Home and in the Office?
After facing the pandemic, we have become more and more worried about the hygiene of every place we are in during the day.
According to WHO, disinfection practices are important to reduce the potential for virus transmission in non-clinic settings such as homes, offices, schools, gyms, public buildings, religious centers, stores, transportation vehicles, business environments and restaurants.
We are now more careful about door and window handles, kitchens and food preparation areas, countertops, bathroom surfaces, toilets and taps, personal touch-screen devices, personal computer keyboards, high contact surfaces that we come into contact with involuntarily at home and in the office during the day.
Eau de Cologne, hand sanitizer and surface disinfectant bottles took their place in our bags last year. Alcohol-free formulas are recommended for surface disinfection, as well as the use of products containing 70 to 90% alcohol.
We have compiled the things you need to pay attention to for disinfection of hard surfaces:
· Pay attention to the content of the disinfectant. Choose organic formulas prepared with herbal oils and plant extracts are known for their disinfection properties or choose formulations containing quaternary ammonium salt supported with ethyl alcohol.
· Make sure that the disinfectants you use contain one or more of the products such as St. John’s Wort, thyme oil, tea tree, licorice root, or eucalyptus oil.
· The disinfectant you choose should not contain triclosan, parabens or phthalates.
· It must have been microbiologically tested.
· It should not be abrasive and should not have any corrosive effect when in contact with metallic accessories.
· It should be suitable for use at home, in the office, workplace, or car.
· Choosing a product that can be used on all hard surfaces such as wood, ceramic, glass, marble, metal and plastic will make your life easier.
